Workforce Training & Economic Development

The workforce and economic development program supports the vitality and resilience of local businesses through increased access to financial resources, expert coaching, and peer support networks. We also work with job seekers through workshops, job fairs, and skills training. Program services are free and include:

  • One-to-one coaching for small business owners to better understand services and resources available in the city. We assist business owners in identifying and applying for grants, technology, permitting, small business management, networking, and connecting to available resources in Lowell.

  • Local Business Owner Meetups for peer support and information and resource sharing.

  • Resume and job searching support and coordinate job fairs, helping our community members to find living-wage local jobs through our Job-Seeker Assistance Program.

  • Job opportunities with flexibility across our diverse population, offered in multiple languages through our Sewing Skills Program.

  • Basic English classes to both provide participants with more confidence when communicating with employers and prepare them for more comprehensive ESL programs.
