CBA Provides Devices for School, Work, and Community Engagement

Imagine trying to write a research paper, book report, or complicated math equation on your phone?

In our outreach, CBA staff heard from several families who were missing a key component of successful school work - a functioning computer. As most work and education moves online for the foreseeable future, the “digital divide” has been revealed.

Along with our partner in service, Kronos, Inc. CBA was able to give out 12 laptop computers that can handle Zoom sessions, Google Classroom, Clever, YouTube, or any of the many digital platforms we use to learn, work, and connect. The first to receive laptops were families connected with our Youth Development programs. Next, we plan to connect CBA community members who need them with good working tablets or laptops so they can engage in remote learning, college coursework, and participate in the community.

Like school work, opportunities to engage in the civic landscape are vital to many in our community. Check our Facebook page for information about upcoming virtual community events, including CHOP dinners, legislative forums, and conversations with community leaders.
